Presentation synopsis |
Project Management continues to grow in many
organizations around the world. Today, more businesses
are injecting formal project management best practices
into the central nervous system of their organization.
As companies expand to respond to booming Market needs,
or budget cuts to comply with an industry recession, the
PM Methodology is always evolving.
In the past, many organizations reactively first
incorporated Project Management into their environment
to address internal efficiency issues. This first step
in siding with formal Project Management tools,
techniques and best practices is often the first major
stage of the PM evolution. This adoption stage can often
be seen as the Governance phase.
After Project Management successfully establishes a
proven track record and the benefits are truly realized,
the last major stage in the evolution is when the PM
Methodology becomes self-serving within an organization.
In this stage of the evolution, all areas of the
business are adopting Project Management philosophies by
initiating the need for Project Management assistance
and injecting PM ideals into their individual business
units.
This presentation will showcase the journey of a leading
national law firm’s Project Management Office from its
early beginnings to present day, while illustrating how
a PM Methodology can evolve from a governance based
model to an in-demand service oriented platform.
