IT
PMs - What gets you hired?
Especially in tough economic times
it is important to know how to differentiate yourself as
the individual of choice for the high profile projects
that will advance your career and open up new
opportunities. Professional branding, marketability,
networking as well as talent development and training
are only some of key differentiators that could set you
apart from the others.
This event will illustrate the corporate as well as
recruiter perspective on the IT and PM skills that
employers are looking for, as well as offering tips and
advice on the how to market your resume, present
yourself and communicate your experience to find those
illustrious job opportunities that reflect your
capabilities and interest.
Please join us for our panel discussion moderated by
Chris Mendes- Technology Career Manager; Bank of
Montreal. Our panel includes Jake Fisher (Technology
Career Manager; Bank of Montreal), Chan Rampersaud MBA,
PMP (Manager; Autism, Preschool Speech and Language,
CYSS I&IT Cluster) as well as Garry Innanen (Partner;
ProvisionIT) and Adam Partridge (Account Manager; TEK
Systems).

Chris Mendes is a Technology Career Manager for the
Bank of Montreal within Enterprise Systems where he
assumes responsibility for the career and talent
development of various disciplines throughout Technology
Development with a focus on Project Management. Prior
to joining BMO, Chris was a top ranked IT Recruiter with
TEKsystems where he was responsible for placing a large
number of Project Managers in Full Time and Contract
roles within Financial Services clients such as TD Bank,
The Bank of Nova Scotia, BMO, CIBC among others. He
went on to an Account Manager role exclusively servicing
the IT staffing requirements for clients that included
The Bank of Montreal, AIG and Airmiles. Chris is a
graduate of The University of Toronto and has been
dedicating his time to support the PMI GTISLIG in the
capacity of Associate Director of Sponsorship. |

Panel Members

Garry Innanen, co-Founder and
Principal Consultant, ProVision, has worked in the
Information Management Consulting field for 21 years. He
has provided Sales, Marketing and Resource Management
Services for national and international consulting and
staffing firms. His experience has been directed toward
Not for Profit, Manufacturing, Retail, Distribution,
Technology, Government and Financial firms. IBM, GE,
Nortel Networks, Kraft General Foods, Noranda, Dofasco,
Empire Life, Manulife Financial, Camco and the Ontario
Public Service are notable clients.
Garry is an Honours B.Sc. graduate from the University of
Waterloo and holds a Master degree in Business
Administration from York University. He has helped
create general business and services strategies and
tactics for IT consulting, manufacturing, beverage,
municipal and provincial government organizations. His
latest 10 years of varied management roles includes the
founding of a National Enterprise Application Consulting
practice, and a Connected Smart Community practice.
Garry has enhanced security clearance with the Federal
government.

Adam Partridge, Account Manager; TEK Systems.
As an Account Manager for TEKsystems Adam’s
prime responsibility is to assist his clients in
attracting and retaining top IT Talent to ensure that
their projects are completed successfully. His goal is
to be perceived by his clients as a strategic partner
who always has their best interest in mind. Adam places
a great deal of importance on taking the time to
understand his clients business, technical environment
and corporate cultural. It is through this
understanding that Adam is able to confidently source
and screen candidates the same way that the clients
would themselves. TEKsystems places a great emphasis on
working with their clients to provide pro-active
workforce planning which allows them to always have a
pipeline of potential candidates for their upcoming
needs.
Adam currently supports TELUS
Business Solutions, TD Infrastructure Technology
Solutions, and BMO Enterprise Infrastructure. Adam
currently maintains over 70 active consultants within
these accounts and works directly with over 40 hiring
managers. Adam is the first Account Manager in the GTA
to be specifically focused on supporting the
infrastructure product line within his enterprise
accounts.
As an Account Manager Adam is also
responsible for managing the recruiters who support the
hiring initiatives for the above mentioned clients.
This includes transferring the knowledge he has gained
from his clients about their hiring initiatives and
corporate culture to ensure they are identifying the
appropriate candidates. He is also responsible for
assisting them in meeting both their personal and
professional goals through holding them accountable in
meeting their agreed upon expected business results.

Jake Fisher is a Technology
Career Manager for BMO Financial Group in Capital
Markets and Risk Management. Specializing in coaching
Business Analysts and Project Managers in their career
development and skills development, Jake is passionate
about empowering employees to discover their strengths
and be intentional about defining their career goals.
Prior to joining BMO, Jake was an
HR Consultant for various financial institutions and IT
recruitment firms where he defined job roles,
performance management systems and recruitment methods.
He has designed case studies used in the School of
Industrial Relations at Queens University, and has
served as a lecturer in the Degroote School of Business
as McMaster University.
Jake studied his Bachelors of
Business Administration at Trinity Western University
and is currently completing his CHRP.

Chan Rampersaud is a Senior
Manager of Information Technology with the Ontario
Government. He has worked with the Ontario Public
Service for over 23 years in a number of areas including
Criminal Law and Judiciary in the Justice sector;
Community and Social Services and Children and Youth
Services; and Management Board of Cabinet, Ministry of
Government Services. He has served as a senior strategic
advisor to Ontario Government Cabinet, Judiciary, Crown
prosecutors in Ontario and other Provinces, on the use
and application of information and information
technology to advance government business. Chan has
managed many IT operations and has led a number
large-scale business and IT transformational projects
within the OPS. He is currently managing a large-scale
OPS IT project to deliver a solution to support the
recent government Accessibility legislation. He has an
MBA, PMP and degree in Public Administration.
